In the News

The Johnson Creek Public Library is participating in a new program called Sip & Swipe Café®. Older adults are invited to learn how to use a tablet as they follow the simple, on screen tutorial provided by Generations on Line (GoL) that offers step-by-step instructions to people over the age of 55 who have never before used a computer or tablet. We need MORE coaches and we need MORE learners! Coaching is fun and requires only amateur skills on a tablet—just trouble shoot and motivate; all the training is on the screen. A full support kit will be available to all coaches, including suggested session guides. You will coach for an hour or two a week, helping one or two adults at a time, for four weeks. Owning a tablet is not required; tablets will be provided for training sessions. Please contact Mrs. B at the library if you are willing to be a coach! This is a great opportunity to help area residents become familiar with tablet technology in a friendly environment.
